Fundamental equations

Magnetohydrodynamics is described by a set of coupled equations:

Continuity equation (mass conservation):

Momentum equation:

ρ(𝐮t+𝐮𝐮)=p+𝐉×𝐁

Induction equation:

Magnetic constraint:

𝐁=0

Limitations

MHD does not include effects described by transport theory or drift physics.
